Imperial Festival 2018
On Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th April 2018, the 15 Elite Scientists 3.0, relayed their research: “Living on the A40: Air Pollution and Our Lungs” to countless members (20000!) of the general public.
They chatted about their results and demonstrated both lung capacity and sheep lung inflation. People had great fun, so much so that the Elite’s stall was voted the most popular at “The Greener futures Zone”, which was great! Well done. They definitely exercised their gift of communication, and their confidence was evident. It’s a big challenge making science accessible to all ages, and they did it well.
People were allowed to find out their lung capacity, and the person with the largest, had their names put on the leader board. Mr Djogo got the highest of 8L, with Mr Ratcliff following with 6L. WOW! That was out of everyone who came to the stall.
A big well done to all the Elite Scientists. You did us all proud!
Thank you to all the teachers that plugged, and visited the stall. Special shout to those who helped on the stall: Ms E Lewis, Mr Ratcliff, Mrs Pan-Latimer, Ms Pearl, Dr Doyle, Mrs Vaughan, Ms Patterson, Ms Neelands and Mr Martin.
Lastly, thank you to Dr Rebecca Holloway from Imperial College, who has been the Elite Scientist’s Science Partner since last October.
