Head Teachers End of Year Letter - July 2018

Wednesday 4th July 2018

Dear Parent/Carer,

I am writing to inform you of the dates for the end of this academic year and the beginning of the next academic year:

Thursday 5th July Sports day for years 7/8/9

Students to arrive at school at the normal time in PE Kits with the addition of their house coloured T’ Shirt. Please ensure that students have water, sun cream and a hat with them.

Students will be dismissed from school at approximately 1.30pm.

8.30-1.20 – Year 10 Meet the Tutor appointments in the Dance & Drama Studio

Monday 9th July to Friday 13th July – Activities Week

All students to check and refer to the schedules sent to parents for timings. Pupils with medical conditions must be responsible for their own medication throughout the week and in the event that your child does not have their medication with them before departing, they will not be permitted to go.

Wednesday 18th July 2018 – Last Day of the 2017/18 Academic Year

Students should attend school in full school uniform. Students should arrive at the normal time of 8.00am and will be dismissed from school at approximately 1.30pm.

Wednesday 5th September 2018 – Years 8, 9, 10 & 11 Students Return for the 2018/19 Academic Year

This is the first day back after the summer holidays for all students starting Years 8, 9, 10 & 11. Students will start at 8.00am as normal and should have all of their equipment with them including a fully-stocked pencil case and PE Kit. Any students who return to school in the incorrect uniform, such as Velcro shoes or with hair styles that do not meet the school rules, will be sent home.

There is also some important information for students and parents to action before Activities Week:

Lockers

Students must empty their lockers and take all the contents and lock home before Activities Week. This is so that the lockers can be cleaned during the summer holidays. Any locks left on lockers will be cut off and thrown away along with anything found inside the lockers. This is the student’s responsibility and the school will not be held liable for anything that is thrown away as a result of the locker not being emptied.

Lost Property

There are still many items in lost property and students should check if anything belongs to them. Anything not claimed before the summer holidays will be washed and sold by the PTFA as second-hand uniform – unsuitable items will be thrown away. It is vital that your child’s name is on every piece of uniform so that they can identify what belongs to them.

Kind Regards,

A. Newman
