"Let me explain how Synaesthesia works!"

This is a statement that the Elite Scientists said often, at the IRIS  (Institute for Research in Schools), 2025 Conference.

On Wednesday 25th of June, 2025 , the Elite Scientists, went to the Friends Meeting House, in Euston, to give their research findings to more than 500 delegates, from other schools.  As well as students and teachers from other schools, there were academics who were also present witnessing the wonderful work that the students have put together for this day.  One academic who they did speak with was Dr Lydia Searle, who is an expert in psychology and neuroscience. She works for IRIS, and has Synaesthesia! She had interesting discussions with tbe students about their research, and Synaesthesia , who has The schedule is attached. Essentially, the students registered, looked at all the other posters (including their own). They formulated questions to ask other students and invited scientists, as well as standing around their posters in groups of five, so that they could answer questions about their project to people they did not know, which was: "Investigating Synaesthetic  Elements in Non-Synaesthtic  students of year 7 -9, students".  The outcome of their project is very interesting,  as they found that out of about 75 experiments, there were about 2 episodes of possible  Synaesthesia ( raised  gamma waves- active thought ) in 2 non-Synaesthetic students, which is what the students were looking for.  The 2 students who had Synaesthesia did not elicit the high gamma waves expected.  The students realised that maybe they should be looking more at Alpha (Relaxation) and Beta ( Focus) waves, which they did.  See their poster attached. Well done to all the Elite Scientists. Thank you also to Mrs Divya Vyas who accompanied us, ????and Ms Kapila who organised the trip .

Thank you to Krisztina Losonci and Valeria Perboni from Nine Lyrae, for leading the project, and helping tbe students with their posters.
