Ah!!! Is that what Sickle cell is?!

This was a statement we heard quite alot at The Great Exhibition Road Festival 2025, which took place on Saturday 7and Sunday 8 of June.  It was a brilliant event.  On both days, the students shared their poster research findings with members of the public on Sickle Cell Anaemia. They were confident, clear, enthusiastic, and just brilliant! I couldn’t fault them in any way, they were so professional in their conduct, and got an amazing reputation for being fantastic! The students talked very confidently about sickle cell anaemia., and explained  different aspects about the disease.  The members of the public were able to do activities like making good wish cards for Sickle Cell Warriors (those who suffer from the disease). They could pin their drawings and wishes to a wall :-).  Members of the public came to me, and the students, and gave lovely comments about their work.   The students had such a great time Looking around the other stalls at the festival, and giving their poster presentations.   Our Elite Scientists did us really proud. I was very proud of all of them all.

Well done to everyone!!  Thanks to Dr Linda van Keimpema for organising and leading the Invisible Warrior Stall", and allowing our students a place on it the whole weekend.  Thank you to tbe Next Generation Zone leads: Wegaha and Cristina, for looking after us, and keeping us in order.
