On Tuesday 3 May, Srishti Balamurugan came to William Perkin, to do a schoolwide (35 students, open to Years 7-13), workshop on blood pressure. The afternoon kicked off with a talk by Srishti on blood pressure, followed by a Q and A, with lots of lovely questions. Thereafter, a heart dissection was carried out over a visualiser, and the session was concluded with a practical, where the Elite Scientists helped students to measure their blood pressure, using wrist blood pressure monitors. The next stage will be for the Elite Scientists to give their talk and poster at Georges, University of London in Tooting, on Friday 20 May.
Thanks to Srishti Balamurugan from St George's University in London, for her time, also thank you to the Elite Scientists for their help as well.
Finally, thanks to Ms Kapila for organising the event.
