RIBA Award Winner
We are incredibly proud to announce that William Perkin CofE High School has been awarded a 2015 RIBA London Award for Architecture Excellence at the London Awards Ceremony on Monday 18th May.
William Perkin was 1 of 68 buildings that was shortlisted for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) London 2015 Awards.
William Perkin CofE High School was designed by architects at Feilden Clegg Bradley Studies. Our four storey school was built using prefabricated timber panels, imported from Austria, making William Perkin the largest construction project in the UK using this form of construction. There is a large amount of exposed cross-laminated timber in our school which brings warmth and lightness of timber in to the school.
Our first intake Students expressed a fondness for the building when asks to comment on the new school.
‘The classrooms are very relaxing as they have large windows which lets in light and it has a very controlled and spiritual atmosphere’
‘The building makes me calm because of the wood that’s used to construct it; I am grateful knowing that this place has been made for us’
